What a season it’s been for the Irishman in his first year with the team: two victories, GC podiums at the Volta a Catalunya, Flèche Wallonne and Criterium du Dauphiné (first rider from Ireland to achieve such a performance) and a maiden top 10 finish at the Tour de France. All these results were carved out following an aggressive and spectacular style racing from Dan, who in 2017 is keen to give it his all once again in order to live up to his reputation and notch up other spectacular victories.
A rider with a high degree of panache, for many years in love with the Classics – winner of Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2013) and Il Lombardia (2014) – and always prone to attack, Dan is also a person with a special flair for languages, speaking French, Spanish, Deutsch, and even Catalan. When he’s not riding, he loves to discover international cuisine, Japanese and Mexican dishes being among his favourites.
